The issues at hand

Thursday, October 09, 2008

I have not really been saying much about the elections (outside of Yes on prop 8), and I feel there is a need to say something today. One of the main arguments that is being thrown around in regards to this forthcoming presidential election is: “abortion and homosexuality are not the only issues”. I would like to take a moment to banish that argument from our minds. Let me say this, they are not the only issues, but the they are the MAJOR issues right now. Why, you ask?

It all starts with a basic knowledge of the 4-fold purpose of man, 1) Relationship, 2) Character, 3) Function and 4) Reproduction. If you don’t understand this doctrine regarding man, you will really not understand your purpose as a human here on earth. Let’s talk about relationship. God’s perfect form of relationship, outside of a relationship with Him, is the husband-wife relationship. It was written that way from the beginning. There was no one comparable for Adam (out of all the animals), so God put Adam to sleep and formed the woman out of his rib. That’s it. It’s a relationship issue, it’s about defining relationship the way God defines it. Not the world. If the definition of marriage gets “re-defined”, than you can be sure that most other definitions of our Christian doctrine will be re-defined also. It was once said, “he who controls words, has the power”, meaning they can define all of life how they want to. Thank God, He controls words and is the Word and upholds all things by His Word and His Word endures to all generations and His Word will never pass away. Define relationship the way God defines it, man and woman.

Reproduction. It is one of the most important aspects of humankind. The ability to reproduce ourselves, naturally (think: babies) and spiritually (think: disciples). Doctrinally speaking the devil and his angels cannot reproduce. There are no more angels being created (good or bad for that matter). If you were the devil and you could not reproduce after yourself, what would you do? You would try and make spiritual, demonic disciples (supernatural reproduction), also you would attack mankind from reproducing naturally and spiritually. If we do not reproduce, civilization, mankind ends. Period. Also, along this vein of thought, you cannot reproduce in a homosexual relationship. Yes, there are scientific, perverted ways of manipulating this process but from the beginning it was not so.

If you take away two of the four of man’s purpose, you degrade mankind’s goal as defined by God. Man CANNOT take on the character of God without a relationship with Him. Or understand proper relationships as defined by God in the Bible. If man cannot have the character of God, he cannot function like God. Or, man will not and cannot take dominion over the devil without God’s character and function. If he does not have a relationship with God, or the character of God and will not function like God...he will not reproduce in a godly fashion.

Now you tell me, does that sound like a minor issue to you? Or do you understand now that is a strategic, demonic assault on man by the devil? It’s an assault and these ARE THE ISSUES! Finances can be fixed, homes prices will go back up, we will find a solution to high gas prices and terrorism. But the real terrorism going on right now is the attack on man’s purpose as defined by God in His Word. I repeat, THESE ARE THE ISSUES, do not be deceived. Do not be unwise, but understand what the Will of the Lord is!

Think, think, think.

Friday, October 03, 2008

Today is the day we think differently. About everything. We as a body of believers need to stop believing everything the world tells us and doubt everything God tells us. Stop taking the word of the media so seriously, stop taking everything people around us say so intensely. Let the mind of Christ effect everything we do. Every one of our thoughts should be filtered through the word, sound doctrine and local church theology.

Too many of our thoughts are measured by this subtle mentality, “what will others think?”. What matters is what God thinks. The bible says He has a lot of thoughts about you. His thoughts towards you are as numerous as the sand on the seashore. His mind is full of the thoughts of man. Let’s take a moment right now and ask God what He really thinks...of us, of our life, of our future.

Open my eyes, that I may see you more clearly.
