Day 7 & 8 Merged!
Friday, February 08, 2008
I know, I didn’t blog last night. Even though I said I would my bad. My bad.
We interrupt this regularly scheduled blog for late breaking news…
Microsoft buys Yahoo! Day 8, in a hostile takeover, has purchased Day 7 for a can of Coke!
“I can’t believe it”, says Day 6; “I never saw it coming. Day 7 was doing so well. I guess in this day and age, you never know who’s becoming obsolete and who is really leading the charge.” A very revealing quote from Day 6. I emailed Day 9, but no reply was given. In a telephone conference, Day 8 said: “Day 7, and perhaps earlier Days, are the subject of ongoing research. We at Day 8 plan on making this Day the most important.” The only response given by Day 7 was, “We are not up for sale. If Day 8 thinks they can buy us or merge with us, they better be ready to fight.”
More details to come shortly as this merger continues to develop...back to your regularly scheduled blog.
...I am not even sure if you tape a bunch of cats together they will look like a horse. Anyway, I am digressing. The real reason for eating ostrich is that it’s lower in fat, but the problem is you end up eating more of it. But if you’re fasting, you’re probably not eating anyway. So, stop thinking about eating.

Day 6 - Some funny things to take your mind off eating.
Wednesday, February 06, 2008
If you haven’t been to the GC Talkback, then you have probably missed some great fasting comments. I have pulled a few here for you, but for more go to this topic.
You know you’re fasting when…
...grocery store ads are suddenly very interesting.
...you start singing “hot crossed buns” in intern class and proceed to spend the next 5 minutes imagining the taste, smell, size, and texture of said buns.
...when chicken bouillon makes your mouth water
...you pick up a drumstick and are mad because someone ate all the chicken off it! (drumstick for the drum set that is)
...you drop your keys in a river of molten lava and you stop and think mmmm molten lava cake with key lime pie.
Hope that staves off the animal instinct inside of you for a few minutes!

Day 5 - Do not withhold
Tuesday, February 05, 2008
Day 5 is here and moving quite nicely. I hope that your are taking time out of your busy schedule to really seek God while you are fasting. I was reading this morning in my daily reading plan and this verse popped up. Exodus 22:29 (NLT) “You must not hold anything back when you give me offerings...” I thought that was a great verse to remind ourselves that this fasting and praying should encompass all of ourselves, not just our stomachs. Let’s offer ourselves completely to God and not hold anything back...ever!
Don’t forget to put up prayer requests and testimonies of what God is doing through this fasting and praying here.
